2011 Debut Author Challenge

In 2011 I am taking the Debut Author Challenge to read a minimum of 12 Young Adult books published in 2011... I think I can do it and what a great way to keep current on books to share with my classes.

First Lines (from the books I have read... beginning 12/7/10)

THE REALM OF POSSIBILITY first lines...i've never smoked a cigarette with anyone but jed.
THE GIRL WITH THE IRON TOUCH first lines... A giant tentacle slapped the front of the submersible, driving the small craft backward in the water. A crack no wider than a hair split across the view screen as suckers the size of dinner plates pulled free.
THE PLEDGE first lines...The air crackled like a gathering thunderstorm the moment the girl entered the chamber. She was just a child, but her presence changed everything.
